Silkscreen

 이언정작가의 판화 작품은 모두 그녀의 손에서 탄생된다. 작가가 상상하는 도시의 색과 모습을 온전히 표현하기 위해 작가가 직접 판을 만들고 찍어낸다. 때문에 더 특별하며, 디지털 인쇄 및 공방 판화 작품들과 차별성을 지닌다.

 작가는 드로잉 후에 실크스크린 틀을 제작하고, 실크틀에 감광액을 바르고, 빛을 쬐어 감광시키고, 테이핑하고, 알맞은 색의 잉크를 섞은 후, 잘 고정하여 종이에 이미지를 찍어낸다. 그녀는 하나의 <City>을 완성하기 위해서 앞의 과정을 몇 번 이고 반복한다.

 All of Lee's print works were born in her hands. In order to fully express the colors and appearances of the imaginary city, the artist creates and prints the plates with her own hands. This makes it more special and distinct from digital or other studio prints.

 After drawing, the artist makes a silkscreen frame, applies a photo-resist to the frame, exposes it to the light, taps it, mix inks of appropriate colors, fix it tightly, and prints the image on a paper. She repeats the process above again and again to complete one <City>.
